Charged: John Demaske is one of two men accused of the offences |
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a student and threatening him with a SAUSAGE GRINDER.
The 19-year-old, who was naked and hysterical when police came to his aid at 2.28am on Sunday, claims he was assaulted.
The unnamed victim was on his way home to his halls of residence from a house party when he was led away by his arms by two strange men, according to Police Chief Tom Williams.
They took him to a warehouse on Laird Street in Winona, Minnesota where they told him he had stolen from them then made him strip naked, police say.
The Winona Daily News says that in the room where he was held there were a band saw and meat grinder, which were both turned on to imply they may be used.
“He didn’t think he would be leaving there alive,” Williams said.
The man says he fled naked after 30 minutes and two passers-by came to his aid.
His clothing was found in the warehouse by police, and they also saw the meat saw and sausage grinder.
The alleged victim of the kidnap has identified Abdirhahman Hassan Samatar, 34, and John Arnold Demaske, 45, both of Winona, as the perpetrators, and both men appeared in Winona County District Court on Monday.
They have been charged with second-degree assault, false imprisonment and making terrorist threats .
Demaske's bail is the equivalent of £16,100 while Samatar’s is £22,540.
