Three men have been accused of beating a woman and dumping her along a road in Bluff Siding in Buffalo County.
The three have preliminary court hearings scheduled in Buffalo County Circuit Court on Oct. 7.
Battery and disorderly conduct charges have been filed against 40-year-old Jonathan A. Hanson of rural Fountain City, and Ronald Nettles, 50, and Scott L. Durham, 34, both of Winona.
The sheriff’s department chief investigator Lee Engfer said the woman was found lying on Chicken Valley Road near the intersection of Bluff Siding Road around 10:30 p.m. on April 11.
Engfer said the woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital for emergency treatment of head and facial injuries, and other bruising. The woman later told police she had a concussion.
According to the complaint, the woman told police three men jumped her outside the Gin Mill Tavern, where they hit and kicked her numerous times.
Engfer said an informant identified the men and witnessed the woman being loaded into a pickup truck and driven off the property.
A month after the incident occurred, Hanson told authorities that the woman had been asked to leave the Gin Mill property and became uncooperative, according to court documents.
Engfer’s report said Hanson stated that he and the woman engaged in a “brief wrestling match” outside the bar that resulted in a motorcycle being tipped over. Hanson, Nettles and Durham are all affiliated with the Road Dogs Motorcycle Club, according to the charges.
The felony battery charges accuse Hanson, Nettles and Durham of causing substantial bodily harm with intent to do so.
If convicted, the class 1 felony carries a sentence of more than three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Nettles was convicted in Winona County District Court of disorderly conduct (brawling or fighting) in September 2013, according to court records. Durham was convicted of assault in February 2005.
