Junior Nurses, Midwives To Join Strike Over Unpaid Salaries From Monday

The Coalition of Unpaid Nurses and Midwives says their fate is still hanging as no concrete understanding was reached when they met with the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations.

The nurses are demanding the payment of all salary and outstanding arrears for the past three years.

The National Coordinator of the Coalition, Jefferson Asare Danquah, told GBC Radio Ghana that, they are not convinced by the promises made by the Minister and until the monies are paid, the over five thousand nurses will stay off their work.
Mr. Asare Danquah reminded government to consider the impact the strike will have on patients especially, pregnant women and new born babies.

He said from Monday all junior nurses and midwives across the country will begin their strike.
