A Former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Albert Kan Dapaah says the lack of checks and balances in the administrative system makes it easy for public office holders to embezzle funds from the public purse.
Mr. Kan Dapaah noted that the public financial system is susceptible to manipulation and it becomes easier for people to divert citizens' hard earned monies into personal pockets.
According to Mr. Kan Dapaah, it is not surprising that public officers and politicians entrusted with public funds steal from the state purse. Mr. Kan Dapaah who is also a Chartered Accountant was delivering in Accra, the 6th Annual Lectures of the Audit Service. Ewurabena Paha reports.
